This is a simpler version of Bolognese using our marinara sauce but still full of flavor and so delicious! We recommend using the Bucatini pasta since the noodles absorb so much of the flavor but you can use traditional spaghetti pasta, fettuccine, or really any type of pasta you would like!

  • Cooking Method

    Prep Time: 20 min

    Cook Time: 2-3 hrs

    Cooking Method: Stove

    Cooking Temp: Med-High

  • Ingredients

    • 2 TBS olive oil
    • 2 TBS butter
    • 1/2 large onion chopped finely
    • 2 stalks celery chopped finely
    • 2 large carrots chopped finely
    • 1 pound organic ground beef
    • Salt and pepper
    • 3/4 cup heavy cream
    • 1 cup white wine
    • 1 1/2-2 cups Lady M and the M Squad Marinara
    • 1 package Organic Bucatini Pasta
    • 2-4 TBS butter
    • 1 cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • Directions

    1. Start by putting the 2 TBS of oil and 2 TBS butter into a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Then place the chopped onion into the pot and cook until translucent.
    2. Once the onion is cooked add the chopped celery and carrot and cook for a few more minutes. Next add the 1 lb of ground beef and cook until brown. Add salt and pepper at this point to season. A large pinch of both. When I cook I taste and season each layer or the dish.
    3. Add 1 cup of white wine and cook between 2-3 minutes. Next add the 3/4 cup of heavy cream and keep stirring until they have both (wine and milk) almost completely simmered away. Time to taste again to see if you need to add another punch of salt or not.
    4. Then add the 1 1/2 cups of marinara and simmer uncovered on very low heat for 1-2 hours. The sauce will greatly reduce at this point leaving your traditional bolognese sauce. If you prefer more sauce then add the additional 1/2 cup of marinara.
    5. When the sauce is almost ready begin cooking the pasta according to the package directions. Once cooked drain and toss with 1-2 TBS butter.
    6. Combine the pasta and sauce together and toss with the 1 cup of parmesan as well.
    7. Serve and enjoy!
