Frozen Watermelon Margarita
This takes a little prep work with having to freeze some fresh watermelon but it is worth it! It's refreshing and not overly sweet. Plus, having it frozen on a hot summer day is perfect!
This is just me, when I make a frozen drink or smoothie I think putting ice in it waters down the flavor so I prefer using just frozen fruit as much as I can.
Ingredients
Serving size: one delicious frozen drink
- 2 oz of tequila
- 1 oz of Grand Mariner or triple sec
- 0.5 oz of organic agave
- 1 whole lime, juiced
- 2 cups of frozen fresh cubed watermelon, it takes about 2-4 hours for the watermelon cubes to freeze
- 2 oz of tequila
Directions
- Cut the fresh watermelon into cubes about the size of large ice cubes. Place either into a zip lock bag or container then into your freezer.
- Once the watermelon is frozen (2-4 hrs roughly), then combine 1 cup of frozen watermelon, tequila, Grand Marnier or triple sec, agave, and lime juice into the blender. Turn the blender on and wait until all the watermelon is blended together.
- After everything is blended together then put the last cup of frozen watermelon into the blender. Blend together until the desired consistency, usually another 1-2 minutes.
- Salt rim of glass if desired then pour into glass.
- Enjoy your amazing frozen watermelon margarita!a
