Sausage Gravy

When we make our homemade biscuits, we almost always make this gravy to go with it. In Luke's opinion you cannot have a good brunch unless you have biscuits and gravy. We will make this for our biscuit station when we do brunch parties and it's always a huge hit! We will double the recipe and place it in a crockpot to keep warm.

  • Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage 
    • ​salt and pepper
    • ​4 TBS butter 
    • ​1/4 cup flour 
    • ​4 cups milk 
    • 1 tsp favoite steak rub 
  • Directions

    1. Brown Breakfast sausage in skillet on medium-high heat until fully cooked through. 
    2. Add butter to the meat and melt.
    3. Once the butter is melted then stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
    4. Reduce the heat to medium-low, while stirring pour 1 cup of milk into the skillet. Keep stirring until the milk and sausage thickens then add another a cup of milk and repeat two more times. The trick to gravy is to keep stirring, slowly add the milk, and patience.  
    5. Once all the milk is added season with rub, salt and pepper to taste.  
    6. Serve over warm Homemade biscuits.
