Spicy Gin Fizz

Spicy Gin Fizz

The gin's earthly tones with a perfect amount of spice, just enough tartness from the lemon, and a small hint of honey to balance everything. Oh did I mention a little carbonation to give a nice bubble! The Spicy Gin Fizz is very well balance refreshing drink that you won’t put down.

  • Ingredients

    Serving size: one delicious drink

    • 2 oz of gin, we like Organic Prairie Gin
    • 1/2 a lemon juiced, I never measure but it's usually about 1-2 oz of lemon juice depending on the size of the lemon
    • 2 tsp of raw honey
    • 1 slice of fresh jalapeño with seeds if you want, also you can always add more jalapeño if you want
    • 4 oz of Topo of Chico or carbonated mineral water
    • Ice
  • Directions

    1. Combine the 2 oz of gin, juice of 1/2 lemon, and the 2 tsp of honey in a shaker cup and stir until the honey is mixed in.

    2. Next pour over ice and add the 4 oz of Topo Chico.

    3. Take the slice of one jalapeño with seeds if you want and place in the shaker cup, make sure the shaker cup is somewhat dry. Then shake for 15-30 seconds, this releases the oils of the jalapeño that will give the drink a nice jalapeño smell and a subtle spice that is not overpowering. I compare it to twisting a orange peel to release it's oils for a old fashioned. You get the smell and subtle taste of orange but it is not overpowering.

Place the jalapeño on top of the drink and give it a good stir to mix everything together. The jalapeño will build in flavor and spice as it sits in the drink. As always, feel free to add more Topo Chico if the drink is too strong.
