Strawberry Rumande

Strawberry Rumande

Fresh and refreshing this rum version of a strawberry lemonade with a nice twist of ginger.

  • Ingredients

    Serving size: one delicious drink

    • 2 oz of rum, light or dark
    • 0.75 oz of organic agave
    • 1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces
    • 1/2 of a lemon, juiced
    • 3 fresh strawberries
    • 3 oz of Topo Chico, sparkling water, or club soda
  • Directions

    1. Combine the agave, juiced lemon, pieces of ginger, rum, and strawberries in a blender or in cup to use a emulsion blender.

Side note: If you do not have a emulsion blender or a regular blender you can just muddle everything together just double or triple the ginger. I highly recommend using at least a blender it really brings out the ginger flavor.
    2. Strain and pour over ice, depending on your preference of pulp or not you can strain over a fine mesh strainer. I almost always use a fine mesh strainer since Lady M does not like pulp!
    3. Add the Topo Chico or club soda then give the drink a good stir. I have just started using Topo Chico because we always have it since our kids love drinking it. Also, I feel like it has a higher volume of carbonation compared to regular club soda so gives you more a refreshing bubble drink.

Another side note: (haha I do love my side notes) you can omit the Topo Chico and drink it over the rocks if you like the stronger taste of the rum. You can even make this into a martini and shake with ice then pour into your favorite glass. If you just want something quick and smooth to start the night off then take it as a shooter. Since it has two shots of rum you could share with a friend...just saying.
